Blake Shelton is a fish out of a water when it comes to sushi.

The 39-year-old country musician visited celebrity hotspot Nobu with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon where he indulged in raw sushi for the first time.

The clip begins with Fallon and Shelton toasting with a glass of sake—Japanese rice wine.

“Here’s to best friends—tonight is kinda special,” says Fallon as he looks into Shelton’s eyes.

“Why are you doing this?” Shelton asks the late-night host.

“Because I love you—that’s all. We’re going to have fun!” Fallon reassures an apprehensive Shelton.

Once the pair downs the rice wine, which tastes like “Easter egg coloring” to Shelton, the dining experience begins.

For starters, the country singer was introduced to pickled ginger, the texture of which he described as akin to “pre-chewed gum” followed by tuna nigiri.

“The texture is Play-Doh,” says Shelton. “But I will say this to you right now man to man—I like that,” he confessed.

The second course of sashimi isn’t appetizing for the country star. “Can we get more of that rice wine?” he implores.

He continues to ask for rice wine as the pair eats through courses three and four of shiatsu (fried bait) and botan ebi (jumbo prawns), respectively. The fifth course of uni (sea urchin) appears to confuse “The Voice” coach.

“You said gonads?” he says as the waitress describes the dish plated in front of them. “Hey!—can I get some rice wine?”

He adds, “I’m going to pretend like this isn’t happening” when asked how he'll down the exotic dishes.

Despite his initial apprehension, Shelton swallows the shot of sea urchin fairly quickly, while Fallon hesitates—then struggles to get the shot down.

“C’mon, you don’t want to be that guy,” the singer says. Once Fallon swallows, Shelton congratulates him with a high five.

As the dining session comes to an end, Shelton’s prize is a pleasant surprise—a McDonald’s Big Mac.

Shelton can barely contain his excitement as he picks up the burger.

“You earned it, buddy,” Fallon says. “Two more rice wines!”
