Big Day Out 2011 Ready to Rock

The Big Day Out 2011 in Auckland on Jan. 21 will have a variety of big name overseas acts as well as local ones.

The inclusion of American band, Tool, is sure to attract a big audience, considering they haven’t toured down under for four years. Tool will bring a laser and video show, reinforcing their reputation for being one of the best live bands around.

German techno-metal group Rammstein are coming back to play after a long absence from the Big Day Out. Iconic Iggy Pop will be returning with Iggy and the Stooges, and will be one for the old and young.

A strong presence of local acts makes next year's Big Day Out a unique one. Bulletproof, Die Die Die, Naked and Famous, and Kids of 88 will be performing.

Soon to be inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame, Shihad will be playing its 1999 album, General Electric, in full, which is sure to bring back memories for loyal fans.

Primal Scream will roll through their classic 1991 album, Screamadelica.

Another nice addition will be soulful Australia band, John Butler Trio. Other acts playing include, Deftones, Wolfmother, M.I.A, and Kid Kenobi and MC Shureshock.
