President Joe Biden has already earned a failing grade for his own initiatives. He refuses to accept responsibility for his failures and change course. He has been focusing on new initiatives that have nothing to do with the country’s needs. Economic recovery is not Biden’s top priority.
His first priority is to retaliate against Trump’s policies, including southern border control, energy policy, and foreign policy. His new policies have little public support as they are not helping our economy; on the contrary, they are slowing down economic recovery, adding new social problems, and further dividing our country. Unfortunately, there is little hope for improvement in the near future. Biden continues to be in denial about his poor leadership, failing report card, and questionable integrity.
In his first day in office, Biden replaced Trump’s restrictive U.S.–Mexico border control with an “open-border” policy. All are welcome, including criminals, drug dealers, and COVID-19-infected migrants. Biden created a multibillion-dollar border crisis with new social problems during the worst pandemic in our history.
In his first press conference, Biden hid the facts about border conditions. He stated that the surge in border crossings is common at this time of year and that his “open-border” policy had nothing to do with the problem. This is far from the truth, as the number of illegal immigrants will be the highest in 20 years. In February 2021, there were over 100,000 illegal migrants compared to only 30,000 in February 2020 (Source: US Customs & Border Protection). In March, the Biden administration reported more than 18,000 immigrant children in its custody. Children are housed in overcrowded rooms with unhealthy living conditions (Source: The Wall Street Journal).
Biden has made no apology for the crisis and continues to defend his “open-border” policy.
Biden’s decision to block the Keystone XL Pipeline is also expected to backfire. His justification was to reduce our dependence on oil in order to reduce CO2 emissions. Yet experts at the Foundation for Economic Education explain that killing this pipeline will have the opposite effect. Emissions would increase by 28 percent to 42 percent since the crude oil would have to be shipped by rail or tankers. Clearly, the pipeline is a better alternative for transportation, as it is more efficient and environmentally friendly. Why didn’t Biden listen to the experts? The answer is simple—killing the pipeline was also on his anti-Trump policy list!
To top it off, Biden is also promoting another dangerous initiative that will weaken our democracy.
He is encouraging Congress to pass the HEROES Act that would eliminate state requirements for voter IDs in federal elections. This comes in response to Georgia’s recent decision to require voter IDs in elections. He called Georgia’s decision “outrageous and un-American.”
What is un-American about ensuring voting integrity? Since the beginning of our democracy, voter ID requirements have proven to be the most effective means of preventing voter fraud. The Supreme Court, as well as the public, supports voter ID requirements, stating that “not only is the risk of voter fraud real,” but “it could affect the outcome of a close election.” Clearly, Biden and the Democrats are looking for “loopholes” to beat the system! Now, that is certainly “outrageous” and “un-American.”
