Bianca Jagger, one of Mick Jagger’s former wives, has expressed sorrow over the death of Jagger’s partner L'Wren Scott, who was found in her Manhattan apartment on Monday morning in a suspected suicide.

“Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace,” Bianca said via Twitter.

A number of Hollywood stars and singers lamented the death. Scott’s fashion designs were regularly seen at red carpet events, worn by the likes of Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, and Penelope Cruz.

“Shocked and saddened by the passing of @lwrenscott ... she was an amazing soul, talented artist and an unbelievably giving friend. RIP,” said Olivia Munn, also via Twitter.

Bianca and Mick were married from 1971 through 1978. He was married to Jerry Hall from 1990 through 1999. He had been dating Scott since 2001.

Jagger’s spokesman told reporters in a statement that the singer is “completely shocked and devastated” by the sudden death.

Scott was apparently in millions of dollars of debt, the Daily Mail reported. Although her fashion designs were worn by celebrities they were not selling well commercially, and she didn’t want money from her rich boyfriend, leaving her to grapple with a steadily increasing debt and the inability to pay her employees.
