Berrendo Middle School in NM on Lockdown After Shooting; 2 Students Injured

Berrendo Middle School in New Mexico is on lockdown on Tuesday after a shooting has left at least two students wounded.

The shooter has been apprehended, the Roswell Police Department said. “Parents are asked to not go to the school right now as it is on lock down mode,” it added via Facebook.

State police are holding a press conference at 1 p.m. 

Students are going to be taken by bus to the Roswell Mall for pickup.

The injured students were flown to an area hospital, reported Kim Tobin of KOB4. THe parents have been notified.

A mother of one of the students at the school told the broadcaster: “I can’t believe it could happen here.”
