The Benidorm series 6 air date was January 2, 2014, with the cast all back in place for episode 1.
And the episode was fantastic, according to fans and reviews.
The blog Benidorm All Year Around proclaimed that the premiere “certainly didn’t disappoint.”
“A bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it but the constant pinging on twitter last night is testament that most love it, just check out #BenidormTweets - well done to writer and creator Derren Litten on another success!” said author Irena Bodnarec.
Fans shared their views on the official Facebook page as well, with most people giving positive feedback.
“Thought the first show was brilliant! Hoping this series is better than last as I was disappointed with it,” said Tracey Maunder.
“Absolutely fantastic,” added Sheila Lawrence Was Fitzpatrick. “I was laughing from start to finish.”
“Loved the opening show can’t wait till next week new characters are fabulous,” said Andrew McMahon.
Not everyone was super keen about it, though.
“I love Benidorm but Tim Healey’s character is absolutely stupid and spoils the story line,” said Jackie Lawton.
“And I’m not too keen on the hairdresser,” added Lisa Brown.
