Ben Affleck tweeted an apology on Wednesday after allegations surfaced that he groped a former MTV host live on the air.

“I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize,” he tweeted, referring to Hillarie Burton, a co-host on MTV’s “Total Request Live” that ran until 2008.

Affleck joined a number of celebrities in denouncing the actions of Harvey Weistein, the longtime movie mogul, who has been accused of decades of sexual abuse and misconduct. The New Yorker and the New York Times detailed allegations against him.

After Affleck’s statement, Burton wrote, “I didn’t forget” when a Twitter user said that Affleck groped Burton on “TRL.”

“Seriously, thank you for that. I was a kid,” she wrote. “I had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry,” she added.

Later, make-up artist Annamarie Tendler accused Affleck of touching her inappropriately.

“I would also love to get an apology from Ben Affleck who grabbed [expletive] at a Golden Globes party in 2014,” she tweeted. “I guess he tried to play it like he was politely moving me out of the way and oops touched my butt instead of my lower back?” she wrote, adding that “like most women in these situations I didn’t say anything but I have thought a lot about what I'd say if I ever saw him again.”

For his part, Affleck has yet to respond to Tendler’s allegations.
