The Chicago Bears will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a preseason game at Soldier Field in Chicago on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN’s presentation of Monday Night Football on Thursday night, with two livestreams available (one and two).
Here’s a few roster updates from AP:
Jaguars LB Posluszny out against Bears with injury
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny won’t play at Chicago on Thursday night because of a bruised biceps.
The team says Posluszny will remain in Jacksonville for treatment and could be back at practice soon.
Second-year player Nate Stupar is expected to start in Posluszny’s place against the Bears.
Posluszny has led the team in tackles the last three years, including a career-best 231 in 2012. He ranked second in the NFL with 161 tackles last season.
Posluszny’s absence means the Jaguars will be without two starting linebackers in their second preseason game. Dekoda Watson, signed in free agency to replace Russell Allen, is on the physically unable to perform list while he recovers from groin surgery.
Jaguars QB Henne to play entire 1st half at Bears
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne will play the entire first half of Thursday’s preseason game at Chicago.
Coach Gus Bradley divulged the plan Tuesday, saying he is leaning toward giving rookie Blake Bortles the entire second half. If so, quarterbacks Ricky Stanzi and rookie Stephen Morris won’t get in the game.
Bradley says he might alter the two-quarterback design to get Stanzi and Morris on the field late, “but that’s what we’re leaning towards now.”
Henne completed 4 of 7 passes for 30 yards in the team’s preseason opener against Tampa Bay last week.
Bortles, the third overall pick in May’s NFL draft, was 7 of 11 passing for 117 yards. Bortles’ numbers would have been better had receivers not dropped three of his passes.
