Batman vs Superman is set for a July 17, 2015 release date, but the latest news is that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could join the cast.

Johnson probably wouldn’t be Robin--he’s too big, for one thing. He’s been rumored as Lex Luthor (the baldness would fit well) or Doomsday.

Johnson sparked speculation after sending out a tweet saying “We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery.”

Another possibility is that Johnson may headline another DC film entirely.

The cast for Batman vs. Superman is far from being finalized a year-and-a-half ahead of the release, though Henry Cavill is going to be Superman after his go in “Man of Steel,” while Ben Affleck is going to be Batman.

Gal Gadot of “Fast & Furious” fame is slated to be Wonder Woman. Gadot is familiar with Johnson because he was in the last two “Fast & Furious” films with her.

Robin has not yet been cast; in the latest Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” it appeared that Joseph Gordon-Levitt might become Robin , but that’s less likely after Christian Bale wasn’t retained as Batman.
