Batman and Wonder Woman?
That’s what everyone’s wondering.
Jaimie Alexander was moderating a panel at Comikaze Expo this weekend when she divulged some fascinating details about the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” movie.
After confirming that there will be a third “Thor” movie, Alexander said that she’s had discussions with both Marvel and Warner Bros about superhero movies, reported Mark Hughes for Forbes.
“So, by the end of the panel, we’d heard that Jaimie Alexander had had conversations with both Marvel and WB regarding their superhero movies, and that she knows things about the Batman vs. Superman film,” he wrote. “What might that mean, exactly? Well, the obvious speculation is that she was approached for some sort of role in the WB super-team film, and the role that immediately comes to everyone’s mind is Wonder Woman. After all, Alexander demonstrated how perfect she’d be as the world’s most famous female superhero when she took on the role of Sif in the Thor franchise.
“She has the acting chops, she’s got the right look, and she has the personality, and we’ve seen her in armor swinging a sword to cut a path through an army of villains. Could it be that WB approached her about the role?”
Alexander plays a woman named Sif in the Thor movie that will be released next weekend.
She told Hughes after the panel: “I’m a huge fan of Wonder Woman. I really think if this is the closest that we’re ever going to get to Wonder Woman, then I’m proud to play Sif.
“I really would like to one day see a Wonder Woman film or Wonder Woman character, but until it’s done with class, I’d rather it not be done,” she added.
Elaborating on her speaking about “Batman vs. Superman,” Alexander said that she would love Wonder Woman to appear in it–or appear in her own movie–but “it’s all speculation right now.”
Fans are enthralled with the idea, with one even creating a picture of Alexander as Wonder Woman, saying “hope the rumors are true.”
“Wowza! ;),” Alexander replied on Twitter to the picture.
There are other Wonder Woman rumors out there, including a viral short film from earlier this year.
Rumors following the viral clip pointed to the possibility of Gina Carano being Wonder Woman.
