Solo moves for both Batman and Superman were confirmed on Wednesday by Warner Bros.

The film studio announced a dozen future films, including the solo films.

It said that it plans on releasing at least 10 DC Comics-based films in 2016, not counting standalone Batman and Superman films.

“It isn’t that the tentpole Batman and Superman films aren’t on the schedule, then, but that they exist independent of the DC development slate -- something that makes sense, given the frequent criticism that Warners has only ever made movies of those two heroes,” noted Comic Book.

Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, currently filming Batman vs Superman, are set to return for Justice League along with Amy Adams.

The solo films would likely come after that.

Latino Review reported this summer that the standalone Batman movie may be called The Batman.

Sources said that the standalone is roughly slated for 2019.

“Let’s break it down. Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice League should be ending production in December, then they break for the holidays and go into production on Justice League in the winter of 2015. Affleck then takes a break from donning the cape and in the summer of 2015, he writes, directs, and stars in his period gangster film Live By Night. The film’s scheduled to hit theaters in October 2016,” it said.

“The studio has the time after Live By Night’s release to develop the screenplay to the standalone Batman film ready to start production either in 2017 or 2018. It wouldn’t surprise me if they actively start developing the script after Justice League or sooner.”
