Just in time for summer! Spruce up your bathroom with a few fresh accessories.

The bathroom tends to be the forgotten room in the house.

It’s easy to neglect the bathroom’s décor and spend more time on other, more prominent rooms in the house. As a result, the décor can quickly become old and outdated.

But updating the bathroom’s décor isn’t difficult, it’s a simple way to make the room much more welcoming and attractive. And the results are worth it. Taking a relaxing soak in the tub in your newly updated bathroom is one of the best feelings around.

If you’re looking for some simple ways to update your bathroom, here are some ideas to get you started.

Hardware Updates

Giving your bathroom a facelift starts with updating hardware: faucets and handles, towel and washcloth racks, and handles or knobs on the doors and cabinets. It’s a good idea to update all of the hardware at the same time, since this will make it easier for you to find coordinating pieces that will help to tie the look together. Updating your bathroom’s hardware is a relatively quick and easy change that will give your bathroom a completely new look.

Lighting

Updated lighting is one of the best bathroom updates. All too often, bathrooms only have the main overhead light, and maybe another harsh lighting feature directly above the mirror. Consider decorative, and task lighting in addition to the ambient light. Wall sconces, one on either side of the mirror provide ideal lighting for tasks, while installing dimmers can help to tone down the amount of harsh light in the room.

Accessories

Don’t forget about the details. Accessorize with a new, coordinating toothbrush holder, soap dish, and waste bin. A new shower curtain and bath mat can also brighten up your bathroom. You could also invest in some wall art or another small decorative feature. Add some candles or a diffuser for that fresh and clean feel.

A New Towel Set

Fresh towels can make all the difference in a bathroom. When choosing your new towel set, opt for high-quality towels that will last longer. Try to look for something that has at least a 500 GSM (grams per square meter) weight. You could choose colors that go with the décor in your bathroom, or opt for white –always a clean, fresh option.

Window Treatments

Depending on your bathroom, you might also consider replacing the window curtains or coverings, and updating the blinds.

Are you ready to update your bathroom?
