A Banksy painting on the Upper West Side in Manhattan apparently was defaced by graffiti, according to preliminary reports.
The art appears to show the silhouette of a child hitting a hooded man with a hammer.
But hours later, there were tweeted photos showing that red lettering was painted over the piece.
“Let the street decide,” it reads. The rest is unlegible.
