Outside and able to play for the first time - not getting shy on such a big day is a tall order for most giraffe calves.

But San Diego Zoo’s newest arrival was soon skipping around like he'd been a part of proceedings for years.

At just 16-days-old, it was Gowan’s first venture out of a protected area since he was born to mother Genny.
