A photo of American actor and TV producer Peter Marc Jacobson was recently used in a search by an Austrian officer in hopes of finding a fraud suspect in Vienna, Austria.

Roman Hahslinger, police spokesman, said on April 13 that police only advertised Jacobson’s photo because the Viennese woman claimed she was defrauded of 46,000 euros (almost $52,000) .

According to Hahslinger, the fraud suspect, who went by the name of “Peter R” gave the woman a false identification document with a photo of Jacobson.

The woman, who can not be identified due to Austrian confidentiality laws, didn’t realize that it was two completely different people.

The man allegedly asked the woman to invest money in diamonds and gems.

Hahslinger has not made contact over the switch, adding Austrian police “cannot know every celebrity in the world,” reported AP.

Jacobson, 58, who is also an American writer, is best known as the co-creator of the popular U.S. sitcom “The Nanny.”
