In Athens, Ohio, a woman has filed a rape complaint after photos and video of her and an unidentified man engaging in a sex act in public began circulating online.

After a video began circulating of a man performing a sex act on her on a sidewalk in Athens on Instagram, the woman filed a rape complaint with the Athens Police Department, reported Ohio University’s The Post.

The woman, 20 years old, is a student at the university and the incident took place between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Saturday morning on South Court Street. The woman says her alleged attacker is a stranger.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the situation.

Athens Police Chief Tom Pyle told The Post that police have identified both people involved but no charges have been filed yet.

“You could view that picture and certainly suggest that a sexual assault took place,” Pyle told 10TV. “You could also suggest other things.”

The people who posted the videos and pictures online may face charges.

It’s unclear if the male involved is a student.

Ohio University senior Allie Erwin said it’s clear what happened.

“Our first instinct as a community was not to intervene and help this woman, but to post it on social media, and make a mockery of probably the most traumatic experience of her life,” said Erwin.
