Ateneo De Manila University in metro Manila has canceled all classes today, November 8 as Typhoon Haiyan hits the Philippines.
“Work is also suspended in the Loyola Heights campus so offices will be closed,” the university said via Twitter.
The university is one of the oldest in the country, tracing back its roots to 1859.
The typhoon is forcing thousands of people to evacuate from across the country and is expected to do heavy damage.
