At Least 3 Dead, 7 Injured in Shooting at New Orleans

At least three people dead and seven others injured after shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday evening, July 28, according to police.

New Orleans Police Department said 10 people were shot on South Claiborne Avenue near the Milan area at around 10:30 p.m.

Three people were declared dead at the scene and seven others were taken to nearby hospitals.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell tweeted after the incident that this type of violence is unacceptable.

“There is no place in New Orleans for this kind of violence. I speak for everyone in our City when I say we are disgusted, we are infuriated, & we have had more than enough. Three more lives — gone. It has to end. It’s unacceptable anywhere,” she said in a post.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
