Asha Parekh has not died, but numerous users on Twitter are saying otherwise.
Parekh was subjected to the false death rumors on Wednesday and Thursday.
Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar apparently started the rumor and later deleted it.
“Sincerest apology to Ms Parekh..won’t trust one news source anymore...imp lesson learnt,” he wrote.
Rajdeep Sardesai, the editor of the IBN18 Network, also tweeted about her purported death. He also retracted it.
“Deep apologies; now told my info on Ms Parekh passing away is wrong. Picked it up from a tweet. Apologies to all and esp to her,” he tweeted.
He added: “Big lesson learnt: apologies again. Will be much much more careful.”
Parekh earlier spoke about her friend and fellow actress Nanda’s death.
“We had to meet regularly, all of us friends. Waheeda Rehman, Sadhana, Helen, Nanda and I,” she said, according to Zee News.
“We, the entire group of friends, last met for lunch on Saturday (March 22) just three days before Nanda was snatched away from us. Now I wonder how we girl pals would ever meet without missing her constantly,” she added.
