Zooey Deschanel caption: A Fox affiliate mistakenly identified Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as “19-year-old Zooey Deschanel,” referring to the actress.
Fox-4 television juxtaposed the erroneous caption next to Tsarnaev’s photo, the site Uproxx.com first reported. The image was posted on Friday as a massive manhunt to find him was underway in Watertown, Mass.
Deschanel, the 33-year-old star of the Fox sitcom “New Girl,” eventually heard about the caption mistake and tweeted: “Whoa! Epic closed captioning FAIL”
A photo was tweeted by Peter Ogburn, who added, “Oh come on, Fox.”
Tsarnaev was ultimately captured on Friday night after a Watertown man located him in a boat parked in his backyard.
After a police shootout, Tsarnaev was apprehended and taken to Beth Israel hospital, where he is currently being treated. He is said to be in serious condition.
