The New York Yankees are getting involved in this season of giving by hosting their 18th annual Yankees Holiday Food Drive on Wednesday. Yankee Manager Joe Girardi, who also helped out with the event last year, and second baseman Robinson Cano will be on hand to help receive donations between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in front of Gate 2 at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees are asking for non-perishable food items to help feed those in need throughout the Bronx with the help of the Bronx clergy. The Yankees will get a head start as several local and national brands will drop off four pallets of food totaling 60,000 pounds.

Fans bringing 30 pounds of food or more will receive a voucher good for two complimentary Grandstand or Bleacher tickets, or two half-priced tickets in select general seating areas to one of 22 designated games before April 30, 2012. Bottled water and rice will not be accepted.
