Yaariyan is not getting good reviews.
The Deccan Chronicle had perhaps the most negative review of the new movie, calling it a “mind-numbing mismash.”
“Yaariyan' is a mind-numbing mishmash of its fatuous predecessors — music videos pretending to be films. Set in sham educational institutions, these entities are inspired from Archie Comics and the worst of Hollywood white trash,” Suparna Sharma wrote.
The review by Niyati Khanna in Business of Cinema called Yaariyan “a huge let down.”
The review gave the film a zero rating.
IBNLive’s review from Rohit Vats said that “the film loses steam just when it was required the most.”
Vats gave the rating a two out of five, saying that while it shed light on racial hatred towards Indians in Australia and had average songs, “the story lacks cohesiveness.”
