The WWE news and rumors are continually coming out, with the latest focusing on Batista and other Superstars.
Check out the latest buzz below.
Latest on Batista’s Possible Return
Batista discussed his potential return with Chris Jericho on Jericho’s podcast recently, saying: “I hope so…I want to go back, I miss it. I love it (but) they need to work with me on creative, you know creative stuff man. You know I really want…I'd like to have more creative control.”
Batistia was upset when the league changed his role and wrote him out earlier than expected because the fans turned on him.
“It’s like sometimes they argue with you just to argue with you when you know this is the route we should be going and we end up going that route anyway but it’s usually like three weeks too late,” Batista told Jericho.
Batista said that if/when he does return, he'll be wrestling frequently despite other projects going on.
“I don’t get that. I’ve heard, and I won’t mention those guys, but when I hear the guys who say they'll only do one TV show a week or they’re not going to do house shows I just don’t get that that man,” he said.
People close to Batista confirmed to PWInsider (subscription only) that he still feels let down with how the return was booked earlier this year.
If Batista does return, the website says that it will be to begin a program for WrestleMania 31.
Batista has expressed interest in working a retirement match against Triple H but there’s been no word on whether the league will move in that direction. He did defeat Triple H back at WrestleMania 21.
Night of Champions ‘Reworked’
The next pay-per-view, Night of Champions, is the subject of many rumors at the moment since some of the fights haven’t been confirmed.
One that has been confirmed is a rematch between Brock Lesnar and John Cena, which Cena is expected to lose.
Cageside Seats reports that the match card has been “reworked.”
“No idea what this means or even could mean, but the Night of Champions card has apparently been ’reworked' in some form or capacity,” it said.
“Considering they’re giving away Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns on Raw next week, not to mention apparently merging the Nikki vs. Brie and AJ Lee vs. Paige stories, there might be fire to the smoke here.”
Lesnar at SmackDown or Not?
(WWE)
The rumors about which events Brock Lesnar will appear at have been flying, with SmackDown in the lead.
Lesnar isn’t on the list of advertised wrestlers for the October 21 SmackDown tapings but is in a commercial for the event that’s been posted on YouTube.
The Smackdown in question is being taped in Wichita, Kansas and is the final television taping before Hell in a Cell.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline later reported that WWE officials said the reports are incorrect.
He said that there is a miscommunication of some sort between two parts of the league.
“Talent relations knows nothing of such a booking for Lesnar,” Meltzer wrote on the F4WOnline.com message board in response to the video.
“There are obviously issues between talent relations and advertising these days.”
WWE Wants Barrett Back Soon
WWE wants Barrett on the upcoming November tour of Europe, and is keeping close tabs on his recovery from an injured shoulder that he had surgery on in July.
PWInsider reports that Barrett was told by doctors that he'd be able to return in December but that the league is holding out hope that he can get back a month early.
Barrett told IGN last month that he expected to get back in action “by the end of the year at the latest.”
His presence on the tour would be especially helpful considering the reported pulling of Daniel Bryan, who is no longer being advertised for the tour.
Van Dam Done?
Rob Van Dam may be done with the WWE.
Cageside Seats reports that the wrestler is hinting that he’s done with the league.
“Rob Van Dam has, in fact, finished up with WWE on his latest run,” it said.
“His contract calls for him to work in 90 day bursts before taking time off. This may have been his last run with the company, however, or at least he’s been hinting at as much.”
