“You all know my story—the highs and lows and ups and downs. My skinny self, my fat self... I have come across something so profound that I think [to everybody] who’s ever felt that it’s a losing battle, here is an opportunity to win,” said Oprah on her show Wednesday.
Geneen Roth says that Women, Food, and God represents a culmination of her trial and error experience, and believes that most women that diet are focusing in the wrong direction. She believes women should first work on their inner selves to create positive changes both inside and outside their bodies.
“It’s never been true, not anywhere at any time, that the value of a soul, of a human spirit, is dependent on a number on a scale,” reads a passage from Women, Food, and God.
