NEW YORK—Freezing weather was the biggest concern raised for the Super Bowl 2014, which will be played in New Jersey on Feb. 2 next year.
The game will be the first cold weather Super Bowl to be played outdoors.
“We are thrilled. We made this decision consciously, obviously not knowing what the weather would be, but football is meant to be played in the elements,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at a press conference in New York Thursday.
