The Phoenix Suns are in a heated race for the eighth spot in the Western Conference, and few believe they'll stand pat at the trade deadline.

But the big question is--which player or players will Phoenix deal?

Lots of rumors are saying and have targeted the Suns point guard trio--Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas, and Eric Bledsoe--and sparkplug swingman Gerald Green.

“Over the weekend the suns were the most active team on the phone, and dragic is at the center of this,” said Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Dragic, 28, will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, and is one of the best free agents who are widely considered to be more likely to leave their present team than stay.

“They’re getting the strong sense that they’re not going to be able to re-sign him, that he’s inclined to go elsewhere,” Fromal said.

Phoenix would also have difficulty re-signing Dragic to the deal he wants with Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas on the books for about $20 million next season. The Houston Rockets are considered to be one of the most likely landing spots for Dragic if he’s traded.

Thomas, Bledsoe, or Green on the Block?

But Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo says that the Suns still hope to re-sign Dragic after this season, and are not compelled to trade him.

“To even consider a deal, they would minimally want player w/ All-Star potential and pick,” he reported.

“If the Suns make a move before deadline, it is far more likely to include Isaiah Thomas and/or Gerald Green, league sources tell Yahoo.”

“They don’t sound like a team that wants to trade him – or even really consider it,” one rival executive said. “They still believe they'll re-sign him in the summer.”

Thomas has perhaps the more friendly contract when compared to what Dragic will likely command for his new contract, at three years and $21 million. Any team that acquires Dragic also runs the risk of having him walk for nothing after this season.

Bledsoe is likely the safest of the point guards, due to his five-year, $70 million extension signed over the summer.

Green could easily be dealt, since he'll be an unrestricted free agent this summer and the Suns likely wouldn’t be able to re-sign him and Dragic.
