A murder suspect was arrested in South Los Angeles on April 11 after leading police on a wild high-speed pursuit during which the suspect crashed into at least three cars and a parked big rig.
The pursuit started around 9:30 a.m. near Western and Slauson avenues, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison said.
Overhead footage from a news camera, which joined the chase after some damage had already been done, shows the suspect driving a stolen maroon car and being followed by multiple LAPD cars.
The suspect crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Vermont and Slauson avenues but kept going. A Metro bus on Slauson was able to stop in time to avoid a collision.
The chase continued to residential areas even as smoke was coming from the visibly damaged car, which had at least one flat tire, according to Fox 11.
The suspect then stopped, exited the vehicle, and fled on foot.
Police eventually arrested the man about 9:45 a.m. near 57th Street and St. Andrews Place.
Police did not release any further information about the suspect nor about the homicide he was wanted for.
No injuries were reported.
