Defense contractor Raytheon has successfully tested the new Excalibur N5 missile at Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona, recorded in the newly released video above, for the U.S. Navy.

The N5 is a 5-inch naval variant of the Excalibur line of guided missiles currently used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, as well as several international armies.

Raytheon claims that the N5 will deliver the same pinpoint accuracy of the Excalibur Ib, while tripling the maximum effective range of conventional naval gun munitions.

The Excalibur can already hit a target within a two meter margin of error, and is expected to get a laser spot tracker upgrade that will improve its accuracy. It also boasts the ability to hit relocated or moving targets.

According to Raytheon, nearly 770 Excalibur missiles have been used in combat.
