“Watch Dogs” will get a release date on Tuesday, May 27, and it already hit retailers in Australia.
The game is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC.
Talk show host Conan O’Brien reviewed the game on his “Clueless Gamer” segment.
“I love that video games have finally folded in on themselves,” O‘Brien said in a video. “The action used to be ’slay the dragon.’ Now it’s ‘let’s go into a basement and play with computers and servers.’”
“It‘ll blow your mind. Watch Dogs. Coming out May 27,” O’Brien added. “If you’re a cool dude, you‘ll love it. If you’re a hacker who likes to stay in a basement, playing around with people’s adjustable-rate mortgage, you’ll really love it.”
Ubisoft said the game is the most-preordered new game in the company’s history, and it’s the second-highest pre-ordered game ever.
“These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs,” said Geoffroy Sardin, senior vice president of sales and marketing at the company, said on the firm’s website. “The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.”
According tp PCMag, the game can be pre-ordered via Amazon, GameStop, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy among other locations.
The Wii U version will come out later at an unspecified date.
The game will cost about $59.99 for the normal version, while the Limited Edition will cost $129.99, but it features the Watch Dogs soundtrack, a SteelBook game case, Aiden’s mask, a hardcover concept art book, and a 9-inch Aiden Pearce mask.
