There’s going to be some dead people in The Walking Dead season 5, and fans are trying to figure out if their favorite characters will be among them.

The most prevalent death rumor was boosted by a new trailer that included the scene of Glenn seemingly about to be smashed in the head by a baseball bat.

In what could be an origin story-type plot line for Neegan, the man seen behind Glenn at Terminus wields a bat and looks ready to smash Glenn, the way the character died in the comic books.

It’s interesting to note that the producers included this and several other scenes in both the previous trailer and this trailer. Walking Dead producers are known for planting misdirection, a piece of evidence in support of those saying Glenn won’t die.

Another big rumor is that Bob will die in the very same room. If both Bob and Glenn died within a couple minutes, the impact would be enormous and could trigger the insurrection by Rick and his group that appears to happen at some point.

Also in the trailer, Rick emphasized to Carl that not even he is safe, which some would take as producers telling fans that any character can die at any time--even Rick or Carl.

“No matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe,” Rick says.

“It only takes on second, and it’s over,” he adds. “Never let your guard down.”

The trailer also shows Abraham getting down on his knees on a road, alone, seemingly mourning the loss of a fallen comrade. Could it be Rosita?

Ultimately, the death speculation will remain just that until the season starts on Sunday, October 12.
