A Dallas police officer was arrested Sept. 9, on a manslaughter charge in the off-duty shooting of her neighbor whose apartment she says she mistook for her own.
Officer Amber Guyger was booked into the Kaufman County Jail after being taken into custody, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release. The department said the investigation is ongoing and that no additional information was available.

Small Plane Crash Kills 2 in Florida
Two people died inside a small plane after it crashed in Lake Worth, Florida, on Sept. 9.The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane departed from Key West and was on its way to Palm Beach County Park Airport.
The twin-engine Cessna C335 crashed just before 11 a.m., south of Palm Beach State College, about a mile away from the airport.
Alligator Gar Washes Up in Japan After Typhoon Jebi
Japanese citizens were shocked when they saw an alligator gar in the street after the flooding caused by Typhoon Jebi receded.Video footage captured near the Aiga River in Osaka showed the gar hanging over the side of a walkway, stuck under a railing.
The alligator appears to be 5 to 6 feet long, with a wide midsection.
The person who recorded the video didn’t approach the alligator gar, since the species is not from Japan.
