A video showing clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers six days ago in the northern Indian region of Ladakh on the border with China recently surfaced.

According to Indian media NDTV, two dozen Indian Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel and about three dozen Indian Army soldiers engaged---without firearms---with Chinese troops. They can be seen punching and kicking one another.

Indian officials confirmed the authenticity of the video, NDTV reported. It occurred on Independence Day as Chinese troops attempted to enter Indian territory near Pangong Lake. They were stopped by Indian troops.

The video was posted on several websites, including YouTube, and it shows stone-throwing, shoving, kicking, and punching on both sides. Lt. General Prakash Katoch posted the clip on Facebook.

An Indian military officer was quoted as saying that the skirmish was brief but violent and it was the first time stones were used, Gulf News reported.
