Vhong Navarro’s ongoing recovery from his ordeal with Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee didn’t keep him from giving a birthday message to “It’s Showtime” co-host Anne Curtis on Monday.

Navarro surprised Curtis by calling into the program and wishing her a happy birthday.

Navarro, who was in the hospital for over a week following the attack, also apologized for not making it to her party on Sunday night.

“You’re here in my heart,” he told her, reported ABS-CBN. “It has always been so.”

Curtis assured Navarro that she understands why he didn’t attend.

“As long as you’re safe,” she said.

Navarro even cracked a joke about waiting for Curtis at her apartment, a reference to the encounter he had with Cornejo and Lee last month.

“I was just given the address; if you like, I'll visit,” he said.

Navarro hasn’t been on the noontime show since he was attacked.
