British Actress Vanessa Redgrave will be recognized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) this month in celebration of her life’s work. Redgrave will receive the organization’s highest honor of fellowship, following in the footsteps of artists such as Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Group Speaks out on Howard Stern
The Parents Television Council [PTC] has issued a statement opposing the possible appointment of Howard Stern to the judge’s panel on reality show American Idol. Rumors have circulated naming Stern, who the group says is “someone who is known primarily for crude profanity and explicit sex talk,” a possible replacement to the outgoing Simon Cowell. PTC called American Idol, “one of the few family-friendly programs left on broadcast TV.”

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly is set to release his latest book, Killing Lincoln. The political talker is delving into the assassination and one of America’s most written about presidents, and the investigation that followed in this latest release. According to the Associated Press, in a recent interview O'Reilly promised that this work, which is scheduled to hit shelves in the fall of 2011, will “provide lessons for today, for contemporary America.”
Florence Henderson Returning to Broadway
Actress Florence Henderson revealed recently to Playbill that she will return to the stage in the upcoming Sherman Brothers musical MerryGoRound. “I’m very excited about it. I’ve been wanting to go back to Broadway for a long time. It’s my first love, and I just love the piece,” she told the publication. While no official announcement has been made, the show is expected to open in July.
