Jesse Bethel High School and Wardlaw Elementary School in Vallejo, Calif., were placed on lockdown. Wardlaw was later reopened, KTVU reported.
Officials told KTVU that both schools were locked down due to nearby criminal activity.
It is unclear what the criminal activity was.
It is also unknown when the lockdown will be lifted.
