Toshiba just released a new HDTV model that is the first in the industry to be certified by Microsoft. The UX600 Cinema Series can take advantage of Window 7’s “Play To” feature, allowing media content such as music, video, and pictures to be streamed to the television both wirelessly and through ethernet.

All three sizes from the series—40“, 46”, and 55” models—are LED HDTVs that offer full 1080P HD display. In addition, they are 802.11 Wi-Fi capable, provide Dolby digital optical output, an SD card slot, 2 USB ports, a gaming mode, and an ethernet port.

Like other Internet capable televisions, users can surf the net, keep in touch through Facebook and Twitter, or check stock reports online, all while watching TV. However, the UX600 comes with its own Wi-Fi adapter, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories.

This sleek set features a slim Air Lagoon design that is less than 2 inches thick and is also energy efficient. It has a high-contrast screen coating so that it can still be comfortably viewed even in a bright area. The UX600 also has a feature that analyzes room light, automatically creating the optimal picture in all lighting conditions.

Toshiba went all out in ensuring that the UX600 produced the highest quality picture, including a feature that doubles video frames from 60 per second to 120 per second in an effort to reduce any motion blur that may occur when watching sports or action movies. Meanwhile, its Dolby Volume makes for a consistent volume level, even during commercials or when changing channels.

Not merely a television, the UX600 has a photo frame capability letting consumers easily view photos in an automatic slide show. It has a gaming mode designed to reduce controller delay, giving players an improved reaction time and a more realistic playing experience.

Another important aspect of the UX600 is its Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification. DLNA is a standards specification that seeks connectivity between standalone devices and PCs from different vendors.

Like other DLNA certified products, the UX600 is instantly compatible with other devices via your home’s network. For example, this technology allows users to watch digital movies through their DLNA-certified PC, television, or other certified device.

The set retails between $1400 and $2400. For full product details and more information on the UX600 go to: http://www.toshibatv.com
