“Unstoppable,” Kirk Cameron’s film, had a bit of a setback Thursday when Facebook blocked all posts that promote the film, he said on his account.

UPDATE: His sister said via Twitter: “My bro’s new movie trailer was blocked on FB which they just reversed ...” However, it appears YouTube blocked the film’s original trailer

Cameron‘s Facebook post reads: “Facebook has officially “blocked” me and you (and everyone else) from posting any link to my new movie at UnstoppableTheMovieDOTcom, labeling the content as ‘abusive’, ‘unsafe’, and ‘spammy’! I can’t even write the real link here, or Facebook would block this post too!!”

Cameron called on people to “encourage Facebook to unblock our website soon by sharing this post with your friends so more people can see this transparent, faith-building project,” he added in his post.

However, some Facebook users posted on his page and said they were able to post the link to the film on their Facebook page, while others were more critical.

“Seems the most unstoppable thing right now is mob rule. Everyone, calm down and stop jumping on the ’this is despicable' bandwagon long enough to see that this isn’t blocked!” wrote one user on Cameron’s Facebook page.

The issue appeared to have been resolved, according to the Global Dispatch website.  Cameron has yet to update his Facebook page regarding the purported change.

His comment about the Facebook ban got hundreds of thousands of “likes” on Facebook.

“The only thing facebook is actually achieving with their actions is giving Cameron and the film more publicity...thumbs up on that!” wrote Facebook user Patricia Gauna Sotelo.

Many others said the purported Facebook ban was likely due to the movie’s religious content.

The film was made in partnership with Liberty University, a Christian school, reported Fox News. It is slated to premier at the university on Sept. 24.

Cameron achieved fame on the 1980s show “Growing Pains” but has now become a Christian film producer and actor.
