Police on Thursday told locals to avoid the McKale/Cherry Garage at the University of Arizona after reports of a gunman with a rifle was seen on the first floor.
“Police on scene at McKale/Cherry Garage. Subj described of hispanic male/6'/175 lbs/Blk T-shirt/shorts/backpack/rifle. Avoid area,” campus police wrote in a tweet.
However, the police said in later tweets that the situation was over.
“Indivdual reported with rifle not located by police search @ garage. McKale/Cherry garage is open for use,” the police said.
“Subj reported w/ gun NOT found during police search of McKale/Cherry Garage and immediate area. ALL CLEAR”
