The the wife of Prime Minister David Cameron, Samantha, has a special fashion adviser---courtesy of Britain’s taxpayers.
Samantha Cameron, 44, has an aide who helps her with her social diary and keeping her up to date with fashion, according to the Mail Online.
Cameron hired former model Rosie Lyburn, granddaughter of a late conservative politician.
The aide, whose position is normally for people who help government ministers, got the job after last year’s general election. Lyburn, 28, receives a public payroll salary of 53,000 pounds, almost $75,000, to advise Mrs. Cameron, paid with money from taxpayers.
Lyburn, who attended Durham University, and was a model at Beulah London, one Kate Middleton’s favorite labels.
The adviser also worked as a parliamentary assistant to a politician and as an events manager for the Conservative Party, according to her LinkedIn profile.
This is not the first time the Camerons were criticized for hiring vanity aides using taxpayers’ money.
The prime minister was previously criticized for hiring an image consultant.
“The vanity of David Cameron is costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of pounds,” said Labor MP Tom Watson at the time, according to The Independent.
“It’s outrageous that he is creating a royal court while at the same time axing half a million public workers,” he added.
Samantha Cameron was also criticized previously when she hired Isabel Spearman, a former fashion PR executive and stylist, before Lyburn.
