The two-headed turtle born at the San Antonio Zoo was named Thelma and Louise after the Academy Award-winning movie from 1991.
San Antonio Zoo spokeswoman Debbie Rios-Vanskike told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the turtle, a female Texas river cooter, is healthy and can walk.
It will be on display at the zoo’s Friedrich Aquarium.
“The first time I saw her and held her she seemed like she had a split personality,” Craig Belke with the San Antonio Zoo told Fox News. “The right side was looking around very curious and the left side was trying to bite me.”
The zoo was formerly home to a two-headed Texas rat snake named Janus for 18 years until the reptile died in 1995.
Two weeks ago, a two-faced kitten was born in Oregon, according to reports.
