TV presenter Rhoda Wilson thought Shen Yun

LONDON—Television presenter Rhoda Wilson thought the final performance of Shen Yun at the Barbican Centre, London, was “brilliant” and “a fantastic experience”.

Speaking in the interval Ms. Wilson said: “I like the sharing of the past—the cultural aspect of China, what it was before. I enjoy the costume, I enjoy watching the ladies in the beautiful costumes. And the dance as well, it’s fantastic!”

The Rhoda Wilson Show has an audience of around 1.3 million on BEN TV and she was voted Best TV Presenter at the Black Entertainment Film, Fashion, Television, and Arts Awards in 2009.

She said that, from what she had gathered from the comments of the MCs who introduce each act, “People have been forgetting the old China, which … is a very delicate and a very humanitarian kind of environment”.

The Shen Yun programme book states that “Classical Chinese dance is one way in which 5,000 years of Chinese culture has been passed down and retained. It is a dance form built on profound traditional aesthetics.”

Ms. Wilson found Shen Yun a fantastic experience because she had never watched something like it before. “It gives me a different cultural aspect of China,” she said.
