A joke saying that rapper Tupac Shakur, who died in 1996, is alive has confused many on Twitter.

Shakur was shot and killed September 13, 1996, during a drive-by shooting but there’s been theories that he is still alive. Reports say that his body was cremated shortly after his death and the ashes were mixed with marijuana and smoked by members of the rap group The Outlawz, of which Shakur belonged.

But on Tuesday, a crude joke about Shakur went viral.

The joke is a screenshot of an iPhone messenger. “Bruh you alive,” it reads. “[Expletive] yeah lol.”
