Trump: Giuliani Is ‘Doing Very Well’ After Virus Diagnosis

President Donald Trump provided an update on lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s health on Monday, saying he is “doing really well” after he was diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

“Rudy’s doing well. I just spoke to him. He’s doing very well,” Trump told reporters at a White House event on Monday. “No temperature, and he actually called me early this morning. He was the first call I got. No, he’s doing very well.”

On Sunday, Trump confirmed Giuliani, former Republican mayor of New York City, tested positive for the virus and went into isolation.

In a post on social media Sunday, Giuliani, 76, thanked people “for all the prayers and kind wishes. I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything.”

Earlier on Sunday, Giuliani was interviewed by Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo and didn’t appear to show any signs of illness. In that interview, he spoke about unusual video footage sourced from Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Election Night that showed containers being wheeled from under a table after poll observers were told vote counting was done for the night and left the area. Georgia election officials said that nothing nefarious occurred in the video, which was shown in front of the Georgia Legislature.

“Greatest mayor in the history of New York and what he’s doing now is more important,” Trump added. “And he will admit that. He was the greatest mayor, did a fantastic job, especially when you see what’s going on nowadays. Rudy Giuliani was a great, great mayor, and what he’s doing now, and he will say it ... is even more important.”

Giuliani has been spearheading Trump’s legal efforts in several key states and has also been lobbying state legislatures to call up their own electors to the Electoral College, alleging that significant fraud occurred during the Nov. 3 election.

“It’s a disgrace to our country,” said Trump on Monday of the Nov. 3 election. “It’s like a third world country, these ballots pouring in from everywhere, using machinery that nobody knows ownership nobody knows anything about.”

He added that voting software machines were “sending out thousand of votes, all against me, by the way.”

“I think the case has been made,” Trump said to reporters on Monday. “And now we find out what we can do about it. You'll see a lot of big things happening over the next couple of days.” The president didn’t elaborate.

The “safe harbor” date for electors is Tuesday, Dec. 8, while the Electoral College is scheduled to vote on Dec. 14.
