An article saying that Trey Songz “confessed” on Twitter isn’t real.
The article was published on Huzlers.com, which posts mostly satire news.
It has disclaimer on each page that says it’s not a real news website.
“Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief,” reads the “About Us” section on the bottom of each page.
The hoax article about Trey Songz said that he later deleted his tweet, and it even included a bogus screenshot of it.
“Although, only being posted a few hours ago, it managed to reach 57k Retweets and almost 53k Favorites before being deleted. To 7.2 Million followers on the site, it’s not much of a secret anymore. Trey Songz has refused to speak to reporters or the media in general after the confession. We know the situation will cause controversy in the music world. We will update you soon on Trey Songz,” the article said.
Keep in mind that no mainstream media companies have reported on this.
However, thousands of people on Wednesday shared and “liked” the Trey Songz article.
Huzlers.com has posted a number of “satire” stories in the past, including a recent one about Floyd Mayweather Jr. being arrested that went viral.
