TORONTO—Transit Commission Chair Karen Stintz unveiled the long awaited $30 billion plan for the city to introduce more subway lines, light rail, and bus routes.

The “OneCity” plan extends over the next 30 years and will introduce six train lines, ten LRT lines, five bus and streetcar lines.

Stintz, along with Vice Chair Glenn De Baeremaeker, says the funding can come from taxpayers, with a tax hike of approximately 1.9 percent per year, for the next four years.

“We call our plan ”OneCity“ because this plan unites all parts of our City through transit.  This plan will benefit every single resident of Toronto, whether they take transit or drive,” said Stintz.

Mayor Rob Ford has reportedly said he will not support the plan.
