The Transformers 4 (Transformers: Age of Extinction) trailer will be played during Super Bowl XLVIII, it was confirmed, while the the Need for Speed trailer is rumored.
Trailers for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier will also play during the game.
Michael Bay, director for Transformers, let the news out in early December in a blog post before he deleted it. The news has since been confirmed by outlets including the LA Times.
“I think the first piece comes out for the Super Bowl and a teaser right after that,” Bay had said.
Transformers: Age of Extinction is slated for a June 27 release date.
Deadline confirmed that the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer will air, though there have been previous glimpses of the film through a teaser and trailer released earlier this year.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Disney booked one slot and may be shopping for another; these are expected for Need for Speed and Winter Soldier after a Disney executive denied that one was for Guardians of the Galaxy.
In addition, Lionsgate snagged a spot before the game for Drama Day.
30-second ads for the Super Bowl reportedly cost around $4 million, but it is usually the most watched broadcast of the year, drawing in over 100 million viewers.
