Reports out of Arkansas on Wednesday said that a tornado has caused damage in northern Arkansas.

As a storm system crossed Arkansas, at least one tornado formed and touched down, and severe winds also raked over much of the state.

A tornado touched down near the town of Scotland and destroyed at least one home and flipped over an 18-wheeler, reported The Weather Channel.

KAIT-8 television reported that the tornado struck down in the afternoon and headed northeastward near the town of Clinton. The tornado knocked down trees.

A tornado watch for most of Arkansas and southern Missouri lasts until around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Arkansas Online reported that at least 5,000 customers had their power go out due to the severe weather.

Nearly 4,000 of those customers were located in Clinton, near where the tornado touched down.
