Torian White, a football player at UCLA, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, and subsequently suspended from the football team.

White was arrested early Sunday morning at an apartment complex on Glenrock Avenue near the university’s campus, the university said in statement on Tuesday.

Police were called the the complex at 3 a.m. in response to a disturbance.

White is an offensive lineman who hasn’t played since injuring his leg on Oct. 2. White is a sophomore from Inglewood who started all 14 games in the 2012 season.

“We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously,” said UCLA football coach Jim Mora in a statement.

“Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal process and student discipline process run their course. Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time.”
