Three people were killed during a plane crash in western Georgia on Saturday after the pilot attempted to make an emergency landing, local media have reported.

On Sunday, the son of a couple died from injuries sustained during the small plane crash, reported the WBIR television station.

The Cessna departed from a Knoxville, Tenn., airport and was heading home to Panama City, Fla. The aircraft went down just 50 miles west of Atlanta in Haralson County.

“It appeared the aircraft lost power, the engine quit, and apparently the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing in a field,” Danny Hutcheson, a coroner for Haralson County, told the Knoxville News.

According to the news, the victims were identified as Kim and Patricia Woliver of Lynn Haven, Fla., and their son, 25-year-old Alex Woliver.

The National Transportation and Safety Board said it will investigate the cause of the crash.
