Thanksgiving weather for the major California cities--San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento--is projected to be wet.

Los Angeles in particular will likely experience rain, which is good news considering the severe drought it is under.

“The rain on Thursday will be fairly consistent throughout the day with an afternoon break from the precipitation likely,” reported AccuWeather. “Rain will continue through the overnight hours and into Friday evening when it will taper out and conditions will clear for a mostly sunny and dry weekend.”

The National Weather Service has the chance of rain at 10 percent after 5 a.m. on Wednesday, and “likely” (60 percent) on Thanksgiving Day, mainly after 11 a.m.

Showers are possible for the San Francisco Bay Area, which would also be good news for the same reason--it is under a severe drought.

“The cloudiness will increase to only occasional bouts of sunshine by Wednesday,” according to AccuWeather. “On Thanksgiving Day the precipitation chances will be highest in the late afternoon and evening hours.”

The National Weather Service forecasts are mostly sunny on Tuesday, partly sunny on Wednesday until mostly cloudy on Wednesday night, and a 20 percent chance of rain on Thanksgiving Day. Temperatures are projected for Tuesday (a high near 67 during the day and a low around 51 at night); Wednesday (a high near 67 during the day and a low around 52 during the night); and Thursday (a high near 66 during the day, and a low around 51 during the night).

For San Diego, the forecast is mostly sunny on Tuesday and partly cloudy on Tuesday night through Wednesday.

On Thanksgiving Day, there’s a chance of rain in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Lastly, Sacramento is expected to have areas of fog before 10 a.m. on Tuesday and otherwise be partly cloudy; on Wednesday, be mostly sunny and then mostly cloudy on Wednesday night, with a low temperature around 45; and be partly sunny on Thanksgiving Day, with a high near 66. Thanksgiving Day night is expected to be mostly cloudy, also with a low around 45.
